Mike
Disario
Mike
Disario is originally from Massachusetts. He enlisted in
the U.S. Air Force in 1976.
After four years of service with the Air Force, Mike
returned to his native Boston and worked as a
rescue/medical technician for an underground construction
and tunneling company building subway tunnels.
Upon completion of the tunnel project Mike returned to the
service, this time with the U.S. Army.
Due to his previous Air Force and rescue experience, Mike
was assigned to a unique new helicopter rescue unit
stationed in the middle of the California desert. This
ground-breaking first assignment would start the ball
rolling on a career that is the heart and soul of the
novel Dustoff.
Rescue assignments moved Mike from state to state, country
to country, and from the cold war to post-war Kuwait. Mike
currently lives in the Thousand Islands Region of upstate
New York. He has been married for eighteen years and has
three children. A retired federal government employee and
now a full-time student, Mike is working towards a new
career in resort management.
